The Seeding Rate Matrix is a new tool Horton Seed Services is offering to our customers to help
determine how many pounds of seed to drop per acre. This is based on our seed and its seeds per pounds, final head count desired per variety,
anticipated tillering, and field conditions. The difference between low and high moisture dryland
can be viewed as available soil moisture, anticipated emergence, and planting conditions.
The irrigated seeding rates are a baseline, assuming you can get it up. Rates must be adjusted higher in high residue situations. The seeding rates in this table all have the ability for high yields. If you plant our seed treated, cut all the pounds per acre back by three pounds. For every day you go past the 15th of October add two pounds a day.
